‘I don’t care what others think’ Naga Munchetty fires back at comments about her hairstyle

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty, 46, is known by viewers for her stylish pixie cut, but the star has now admitted she doesn’t always receive positive comments about her hairdo. The journalist hit back at opinions on her short locks after one of her Twitter followers shared her own concerns about going for the chop at the salon.

Naga interacted with the fan after she shared an article from Stylist about how going for a shorter haircut can prompt “complicated emotions” for women.

The publication’s tweet read: “Why the simple act of having our hair cut short means so much more than we think #shorthair #psychology #beauty.”

After retweeting the piece in view of her 259,000 followers, Naga wrote alongside it: “Do it your way x,” alongside a haircut emoji.

Spotting Naga’s post, the Twitter user penned in response: “I’d love a pixi cut!

“No hair tickling my back and getting blown in my face with the slightest gust of wind! Bliss.

“Sadly I’d look like a cross between Pob and my grandad so it ain’t happening.”

However, Naga was quick to inform her fan that she had received similar comments about her hairstyle, but that she chooses to ignore them.

The star revealed she “often” gets compared to Pob, a character with short hair from Channel 4’s children’s television show – Pob’s Programme.

The star, who hosted the show with Charlie Stayt, put on a summery display in the outfit, which came complete with four white pockets and a matching collar.

Many fans took to social media to gush over Naga’s 60s-inspired shift dress.

A viewer tweeted: “@TVNaga01 my 8 year old has just said that she loves your dress – she loves all the pockets!”

Appreciating the sweet message, Naga replied: “Please tell her that the pockets are my favourite bit too!  xx.”
