How to get Thorpe Park tickets for FREE this summer but you won’t like the catch

THORPE Park is giving away free tickets to the theme park – but there is a bit of a catch.

The free day passes are being offered to anyone who had their flight cancelled during the travel chaos over the weekend.

Anyone affected by the cancelled flights on May 28 will be able to get a free ticket to Thorpe Park.

The first 100 people who can show they were affected by the cancellations will be given a pass to be used until June 5.

This means showing evidence of the holiday cancellation and ID matching the booking, which can be shown at the Island Ticket Centre.

While you will still have to pay for your travel costs, it means you could save £59 each.

There are lots of reasons to be excited for a day trip to Thorpe Park, with it being home to Stealth, the fastest rollercoaster in the UK and The Swarm, the only winged coaster in the UK.

Water rides including the 85ft Tidal Wave and the Rumba Rapids will also be welcoming guests once again, along with Saw – The Ride, which was the first horror-themed rollercoaster in the world.

The park’s Shark Cabins have also reopened, with nautical-themed rooms at the Thorpe Park Hotel where families can stay at the park overnight, before heading to the rides early the next day.

And by 2024, the park hopes to open the largest rollercoaster in the UK.

Hundreds of flights were cancelled over the weekend, affecting thousands of passengers due to fly with TUI and easyJet.

Families face eight-hour waits for their flights while others were forced to sleep on the airport floor overnight.

Passengers compared Bristol Airport to a “zoo” this weekend while those in Manchester reportedly waited four hours for a pilot to show up.

Here is the full list of flight cancellations affecting passengers today.

And TUI has issued a travel warning for Brits heading to the airport.
