THE DREADED freezing weather often causes drivers to spend a few extra minutes in the morning to de-ice their car.
But a £1 tool can completely clear frost in seconds, according to a viral TikTok video.
The savvy motorist took to the social media to share the money-saving hack to fellow drivers.
And everything you need is already laying inside cupboards in your kitchen.
User LeRoze said: “Easy way to de-ice your windshield and no scraping is needed.”
All you need is a spraying bottle, water and some rubbing alcohol.
Footage shows the content creator put a mixture of two-thirds of alcohol and one-third of water into the plastic container.
He then proceeds to spray the liquid all over the ice on top of his vehicle’s windscreen.
The car owner said: “Look at how quickly effective it works!
Drivers should be able to clear the ice and frost from their cars in seconds.
This solution will not freeze, as the rubbing alcohol has a freezing point of around -88 degrees Celsius.
“Let your wipers do the rest. The ice is soften at this point making it easy to get off,” the motorist added.
The homemade hack won’t leave you out of pocket as you can buy a spraying bottle for very little.
Motorists can find a plastic spray bottle for £1 at B&M.
The video amassed hundreds of views and nearly 200 likes from other car owners.
Dozens of users flocked to the comments section to share their opinions and thoughts.
One said: “I might need to try that.”
But other users disagreed and said the hack can damage the wipers.
Instead, motorists said drivers should use a special liquid to effectively get rid of the ice.
Someone said: “Use De-icer washer fluid. It works faster than this.”
Drivers can also clear frost in seconds by pressing only one button, according to a viral TikTok video.
Experts at Driving Test Success have revealed motorists can get rid of ice from inside the car while it’s warming up.
All they have to do is activate the car’s windscreen fan, which will heat up the glass from inside.
They explain: “Frozen windscreen? Put the temperature on high.
“Put the front windscreen fan on max. The ice will start to melt from the heat.
“Wipe away excess water and return the fan to normal.”
Experienced motors mechanic Craig shared the useful trick on his TikTok account.
In the video, Craig explained that taking some simple steps to avoid frost building up on your motor can prevent damage to key parts.
Meanwhile, a common household item could also de-frost drivers’ frozen windscreens in just seconds.
