Now more than 10,000 students are taking help from the startup.

The startup was selected for Chunauti 2.0, a national level program, under NGIS for seed funding by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on Thursday, a major boost to expand the community and implement futuristic ideologies.

The co-founders of the startup Vikas and Mahidhar say that they are grateful to the University, professors, including vice-chancellor Prof P Prasada Reddy, AU Incubation center CEO Ravi – Dr.Lalitha Bhaskari, Mallikarjuna Rao, and the others to achieve this.
The BTech CSE branch student Kapuganti Vikas, who handles Tech, Organizing, Collaborations and Social Media Marketing of the startup, told TOI that It all started with a mere thought of helping the students of Andhra University with academic materials through an Instagram page.

“The whole idea generated when we were talking on a call, and all the juniors are asking us what topics to study for exams. we were guiding them generally, and it was a spur of the moment we thought why not to start an Instagram page which will reach more people,” he said.

They began with the computer science branch that gained fame exponentially with time and then they extended it to all other branches. They kept the previous year’s question papers and important topics to study, syllabus in a post with solutions also. Within no time, they reached 2000 students.

This has given them another thought of converting to a student community, where the students can have access to all the material and clear doubts with the assistance of seniors and also develop their skills parallelly.

“We registered as a startup and expanded our services to personalized courses, webinars, live sessions, workshops, and providing internships to students in various companies. Our startup is now incubated by AU Incubation with the help of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Prasada Reddy,“co-founder of the startup Mahidhar said.

The MTech CSE student Mahidhar, who handles Marketing, Content Writing, and Relation of the startup, EduMoon is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Ed-Tech company focussed on providing academic and career solutions to students par excellence through result-driven, coherent learning methodologies.

The pandemic conditions have witnessed a huge shift from offline to online mode of education which showcased a deficiency of proper student community – where students could help each other to adapt to the new normal of learning. This brought out a strong need for a source to mentor the student community in shaping their career paths, he explained.

Startup’s YouTube channel and website www.theedumoon.com were launched by AU Engineering College Principal P. Srinivasa Rao. The Tech Team- Karun Karthik, Sharat Patnaik, Niveditha Palli, Rohit Jayaraju, Ratan Dheeraj took it a step forward and built EduMoon’s website and Android application.

The Organizing and Management Team- Sohana, Vidya Lakshmi, Renuka, and Jothi with a never-settle perspective have put forward futuristic and creative strategies to carry forward the plans.

Now a strong team of 50 members, including experts in various subjects, are working for the betterment of the student community. They registered as a partnership firm and conducted workshops, boot camps on trending technologies, and mentored students for competitive exams. “There is a myriad of young graduates and employees wandering in pursuit of a niche. We felt there was a huge need for building a strong student community that would learn and grow together. We’ve come a long way from an info-sharing Instagram page to a progressive Ed-Tech company with a huge student community.,” he said.

Both Vikas and Mahidhar say that they have a community of above 10000 now and their prime goal is to become the biggest engaging student community.
