Hitachi Group takes steps to increase focus on India operations

Pune: Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese company Hitachi on Thursday announced that Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic has changed its corporate name to Hitachi Systems India.

It also announced the appointment of Munehiro Hashimoto as the new chairman. With this change, Hitachi Systems aims to operate in closer collaboration with Hitachi Systems India as part of a plan to expand its IT service business in the Indian market and strengthen its business foundations.

Hashimoto’s appointment will help increase the managerial influence from Japan. Founded in 1991, Hitachi Systems India is an IT services company based in New Delhi. The company became a member of the Hitachi Systems Group in 2014 and has since been providing one-stop services, ranging from IT equipment procurement to system design, construction, operation, and maintenance.

“Hitachi Systems considers India to be a key strategic region for global business expansion due to the size of its market and high rate of growth. Following the adoption of their new corporate name and the appointment of their new chairman, Hitachi Systems India aims to strengthen its IT-related service business.

As part of their efforts to be a global service company, Hitachi Systems will work in even closer collaboration with Hitachi Systems India to boost brand value,” said Naoki Ono, vice president and executive officer of Hitachi Systems.

In January 2020, the company announced a change to its management following the retirement of its founder. Hitachi has designated India as an important region in its global strategy given the growth in the IT services industry here. Hitachi Systems, a core company in the Hitachi Group’s information and telecommunication systems business, has been actively promoting initiatives centred on Hitachi Systems India to further strengthen its IT services foundation and expand its footprint in the country.
