Here’s why Ranveer Singh’s Don was not announced on his birthday yesterday

After much anticipation, action-thriller Don’s third instalment has finally been revealed by producer Ritesh Sidhwani. Later, a number of publications made it official that Ranveer Singh had been cast to portray the lead role in Don 3. Additionally, yesterday, Ranveer’s birthday, was the scheduled release date for the announcement video for the same. However, a source for an entertainment portal claimed that circumstances suddenly altered. According to the source, Ranveer purposefully chose to release the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani trailer a few days before his birthday in order to leave the release date of Don 3 open.

The team decided it might not be a good idea to announce Don 3 at this time due to Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire, a Telugu movie starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, releasing its trailer. As a result, the entire plan was put on hold.  Although the new announcement date is unclear, the insider adds that if Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is successful at the BO, it might be completed in August.

It was previously stated that the introduction film was shown to a number of business experts, who were completely enthralled by the idea and adored Ranveer as the new Don.

Farhan Akhtar’s Don was released in 2006, while the sequel, starring SRK and Priyanka Chopra, was released in 2011.
