Here’s a closer look at Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s regal wedding looks

In 2015, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan fell in love on the set of a film. The couple married in a private ceremony in Mahabalipuram, in the presence of their family members and close industry friends on Thursday. The romantic wedding photos went viral on the internet. The couple, dressed in ethereal ethnic ensembles, enchanted everyone with their wedding splendor.

Nayanthara chose a traditional yet modern bridal look for her big day. She was dressed in a customised vermilion red saree with tone-on-tone embroidery. Oh, and the embroidery on her saree was inspired by the carvings on Hoysala temples. The ensemble also featured the motif of Goddess Lakshmi and was personalised with her, and to represent the fourth vow, the ensemble was personalised with the names of the actors, symbolising togetherness, commitment, and mutual respect.  To go with the six yards, she wore a heavy assemblage of jewels. To complement her wedding saree, she wore a green emerald choker, necklace, and Kundan rani haar, which she paired with Kundan statement earrings, maang tikka, and ornate bangles. A small red bindi and nose pin completed the bride’s look. Nayanthara also wore an emerald green rock on her ring finger, which she paired with the same styled kadha as well as a diamond-studded golden kadha. The actress wore her hair in a sleek lower bun and adorned it with a white flower gajra. Nayanthara looked ethereal in minimal make-up, opting for nude lips and shimmering eyes.

Vignesh Shivan wore a beige outfit with a traditional touch.Because it corresponds to the four pheras, the filmmaker and now groom chose a veshti, kurta, and shawl – all handcrafted by the master artisans of JADE atelier. ‘Ek Taar’ embroidery is handcrafted on the shawl.
