The 35-year-old reality TV star is expecting her second child with on/off boyfriend Charles Drury, 24, eight months after the couple welcomed their first child, Larose.
Lauren posted a message on her Instagram Story to inform her followers that she would be off social media while she recovers.
‘Currently have norovirus and it’s horrendous,’ she wrote in her post. ‘Doesn’t go well with being heavily pregnant either. I am so unwell so won’t be contactable for a few days to anyone who has messaged me.’
The former Towie star added: ‘Will get back to you when I am better.’
According to the NHS, norovirus (also known as the vomiting bug) is a stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhoea. The main symptoms are feeling sick, being sick and diarrhoea. While it can be unpleasant, it usually goes away after two days.
During an Instagram Q&A on Wednesday morning, she was asked a range of questions about the impending birth, including whether or not she was feeling ‘guilty’ for falling pregnant while her first daughter was still so young.
Dismissing the idea of mum guilt, she insisted Larose will always be her ‘little best friend’ and was now also getting a ‘friend for life’ in her new sibling.
She wrote: ‘I love her soooo much she my girl she always will be my little best friend and she about to get a gift from me a baby sister someone by her side through everything and a friend for life [sic].’
Speaking previously about discovering she was pregnant for a second time, she told OK! magazine: ‘We weren’t very careful and Charlie was really pleased, but being honest I was really in two minds about it.
‘I was like, “I’m just getting myself back together – I’m going back to square one. Is this fair?” You get real mum guilt, like, “What about Larose?”
‘She’s still a baby, she still needs me, I won’t be able to be there for her.’
Lauren added that Charles really wanted the baby too, which prompted her to go ahead with the pregnancy.
‘I’m so glad I did,’ she enthused.
Despite recently splitting up, Lauren and Charles appear to be back together after being photographed hugging and kissing as they took Larose out for the day.
