A DRIVER has revealed a genius app that can help you avoid being charged by car rental companies for damage that you didn’t cause.
TikTok user @claireandpeter uploaded a video that shows a man 3D scanning a rental car with his mobile phone.

The free app is called Polycam, which can be downloaded on iPhone or Android smartphones – potentially saving you hundreds of pounds if you rent a car while on holiday.
At the end of the video, the poster shows a 3D image of the car – capturing the condition of the entire vehicle.
They titled the video: “No Dents in the bank account.”
The app is free to download and use, although some functionality, such as Export, requires a Pro plan.
The creators of this app described it: “Polycam is the world’s most popular 3D scanning app for iOS, web and Android.
“We believe that 3D capture is for everyone, so we made it easy. Now you can scan the world around you with your mobile device, DSLR camera, or drone to get beautiful, accurate 3D models.”
The video has had more than a million views on TikTok – and users were left in shock after discovering this amazing app could save them hundreds of pounds.
One said: “Omg, what a great idea. I didn’t think to use it for that.”
Another said: “Awesome. I need that app.”
While a third pointed out: “Wow, smart. What app are you using?”
This comes after drivers were warned that they could be breaking the law if they passed their driving test before 2014.
