Piers Morgan, 58, has ripped into Gayle King’s recent claims after Prince Harry released his controversial memoir about his family earlier this year.
The broadcaster and TV legend claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “living their truth” as she backed Meghan Markle’s decision to stay in the US on May 6.
For weeks it was unknown what Meghan and her husband Prince Harry intended to do with regard to their Coronation plans, with the Sussex household missing the invitation deadline.
It was later confirmed Harry will be attending the ceremony solo while his wife and children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, remain stateside.
“I think that Harry and Meghan are living their truth and I think they will make their best decisions for themselves,” Gayle told Page Six at the Time 100 Gala this week.

“I think they’re very solid,” the CBS Mornings co-host continued, adding that “they don’t consult me about their own decisions.”
“They make their own decisions and so far they’re doing what works and what’s best for them.”
Piers has since reacted to Gayle’s comments as he shared a link to the article on April 28, which read: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘living their truth’.”
He vented: “There’s no such thing. There’s just THE truth, about which these two know very little.”
The TalkTV presenter’s comments sparked a social media divide as social media users defended the royal couple.
Voytec tweeted: “Let them be. Who cares what they do?” while Elisa remarked: “Piers, please let this rest.”
Gayle, 68, has been a longtime friend and supporter of the royal couple, having met them through her best friend Oprah Winfrey.
She was one of the guests at Meghan’s baby shower in 2019 when the duchess was pregnant with Prince Archie.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s family are set to release their “last ever” interview in a tell-all documentary just days before King Charles III’s Coronation.
It promises to reveal “Meghan Markle as you’ve never seen her before”, and the documentary is due to premiere on Australia’s Channel 7 on Sunday.
In the teaser trailer posted to Twitter, Meghan’s father, sister and brother are interviewed and the video ends with a mysterious promise of the “biggest Prince Andrew bombshell yet”.
