Greggs cafés are about to land in Sainsbury’s stores very soon

The nation’s beloved bakery chain Greggs has announced it will be opening standalone cafés in Sainsbury’s stores.

Known for its sausage rolls and pies, the bakery has revealed it will launch up to six new sites with the supermarket before the end of the year.

We don’t know about you, but the thought of munching on a steak bake before tackling the weekly shop sounds perfect.

In the cafés themselves, customers can expect seating areas and ‘coffee-style operations’.

While this may seem like a rather exciting development, it’s worth pointing out that Greggs already has partnerships with other supermarkets – with seven new venues opening at Tesco sites this year alone.

But the locations for the new partnership with Sainsbury’s aren’t yet known – so, sadly, we can’t give you the meaty details just yet.

However, Greggs initially partnered with Sainsbury’s to open a concession in one of the supermarket’s garages in Bedfordshire to get things off the ground.

It seems the bakery has gone from strength to strength since opening a Greggs café in the Birmingham Bullring flagship branch of Primark, back in February 2022 – and shows no sign of slowing down

More recently, the high street food retailer also opened its first outlet at a London airport, in Gatwick’s South Terminal.

Not only this, but the site is open 24 hours and is double the size of a regular Greggs café.

So with countless new locations to choose from, it seems like there will be a Greggs around every corner, just waiting for you to pick up that pizza slice or sausage roll.
