Greg Wise sailed into week four of Strictly Come Dancing despite being favourites to be booted out of the competition last time out. Bookmaker William Hill has the actor at 6/4 to crash out alongside partner Karen Hauer this week. Greg, who played John Willoughby in 1995 film Sense and Sensibility, was reduced to tears on week two of the show after dedicating his performance to his late sister, who died of cancer.
He looked up to the sky at the end of the dance before hugging Karen.
Greg met his wife Emma Thompson on the set of Sense and Sensibility, and they tied the knot 18 years ago.
While both are vocal Remainers, Greg admitted in May 2016 that there was scaremongering on “both sides” of the debate.
He insisted that Britons would be better off to simply ignore the issue of Brexit altogether.

Addressing the referendum on membership of the EU, which was just a month away at the time, Greg said: “I think we should just ignore all of this, we should forget about all of this.
“There are so many more important and pressing things that we should be spending our time talking about and concentrating on than some nebulous decision that no-one knows what will happen either way.
“It’s all pure speculation and scaremongering and I just think it is so petty and childish from both sides.
“We’ve got huge problems in our country and I don’t think the EU is one of them, I really don’t.”
Her comments went down like a lead balloon with Conservative Party MP Steve Baker.
Mr Baker was chairman of pro-Brexit group Conservatives for Britain.
He told HuffPost at the time: “It’s always incredibly disappointing to see a star doing our country down.
“We are much greater than this.”
The UK, of course, voted to leave the EU by 52 percent to 48 percent.
Greg’s birth county of Northumberland voted to leave by 54 percent to 46.
London, where Emma grew up, overwhelmingly voted in favour of remaining within the EU.
In the wake of Brexit, Greg and Emma relocated to Venice in February 2020 just before the coronavirus pandemic took hold in Europe.
Emma described the move as the “realisation of a dream she had cherished for years”.
However, the pandemic took over in Italy just days after they gained citizenship of the city of Venice and residency of Italy.
As a result, they swiftly returned to Scotland to isolate with Emma’s family.
Greg returns to our screens this evening on Strictly Come Dancing. It airs on BBC One at 7pm.
