Government will create opportunity for youth to study while working: Goa CM Pramod Sawant – Times of India

PANAJI: Emphasising the need for apprenticeship in building a career, chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the state government will unveil a platform for youth seeking to complete higher studies while working.
Six hundred youth have joined 54 companies and four government offices for a period of one year to one and half years under the prime minister’s apprenticeship programme.
During the period of apprenticeship, youth will get a stipend of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000.
“While working simultaneously, one can continue studies and complete graduation and post-graduation. The new platform will be launched this week,” Sawant said, and urged youth should take advantage of this opportunity.
Sawant said that students who complete ITI, 12thstd, and graduation have to undergo an apprenticeship, and students can enrol online.
He said that even ITIs are assisting the youth to enrol.
Stating that Goa’s tourism industry, which includes the new Manohar international airport, has a huge employment potential, the chief minister said that a minimum of 2 lakh jobs would be created during the next five years in the hospitality industry. “If we don’t take this opportunity, then others will grab it,” Sawant said.
