Google rolls out free perk to millions – and it could save you from danger
GOOGLE Pixel 7 owners can now get hold of a special perk that would usually cost you.
The tech giant has started rolling out a free VPN to everyone with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
It’s the VPN by Google One, which you would usually have to subscribe to the 2TB and higher plans to get hold of.
That usually costs £7.99 – though it comes with cloud storage and other benefits you don’t get for free in this particular offer.
As Google describes themselves, a VPN acts like a “privacy cloak” because it adds a layer of encryption to your internet activities.
The firm promised to provide Pixel 7 owners with free access to the VPN feature when it launched the device back in October.
Now delivering on that pledge, Pixel 7 users will start gaining access from today.
Just download the Google One app and you should have the VPN feature available.
How to claim free Google One VPN
To enable it, find Benefits along the bottom.
Scroll down until you find VPN Protection for Multiple Devices.
Choose View Details.
And finally, select Use VPN.
As it’s rolling out, there’s a chance it may not have reached you just yet, so keep looking out if you’ve not got lucky immediately.
