God of War: Cory Barlog Debunks Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Casting as Kratos

God of War will soon receive the live-action treatment, as Amazon Prime recently announced the development of a new TV series.

God of War joins other PlayStation IPs such as The Last of Us to enter the film and TV world, and fans are excited to see the Greek God in Kratos come to life.

At the moment, not much is known about the show itself, as it’s early in development. This includes the series’ casting, as fans are intrigued about the actor, who will be playing Kratos in the Amazon Prime show.

One name that has caught fire amongst rumors recently is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The wrestler-turned global movie superstar sure has the physique to bring Kratos to life. However so far, the casting has only been among rumor mills.

Furthermore, it seems like the series might not feature The Rock at all, as God of War veteran Cory Barlog recently debunked these rumors. Barlog responded to a tweet claiming that the makers of the series were seriously considering the casting of Dwayne Johnson, by noting that he had “literally never heard anything about this.” It’s to be noted that these claims from fake sources as well.

With Dwayne Johnson seemingly out of the picture, it will be interesting to see which actor will play the legendary God of War, and we sure can’t wait to hear more about it.
