This year, the new 19-deck MSC Virtuosa will be returning to Southampton for its second summer season and there’s some cracking itineraries lined up for sun-seekers, explorers and families.

Adventurers can set sail on a seven-night trip around the Norwegian Fjords, hiking across glaciers and admiring waterfalls from £649pp, departing on May 13.

Passengers will explore the ancient Viking settlement of Haugesund and take an excursion to the spectacular Langfoss waterfall, cascading 600 metres down a steep mountainside.

Then you’ll stop at Hellesylt, where foodies can visit the Herald Summer Farm and sample local delicacies.

It’s well worth a visit to the Briksdal glacier while you’re here.

It sits within a rugged national park and is said to be one of the most beautiful in the county, surrounded by lush vegetation and grey rock.

The ship will then navigate its way through mountain-fringed fjords before reaching Sognefjord and end its journey in the pretty region of Stavanger filled with quaint shops and small museums.

Passengers won’t be short of fun on board during the seven-night sailing either.

MSC Virtuosa has an indoor promenade topped by an incredible LED dome with shops and restaurants, five luxurious swimming pools and a Lego themed kids club to keep little ones busy.

When you’re after a tipple, head to the MSC Starship Club to have a drink with Rob, the first ever robot bartender at sea who makes a mean cocktail.

If it’s kicking back with a cocktail you’re after, upgrade to an all-inclusive package, which costs £749pp for the itinerary above.

If sunny beach holidays are more your thing though, then MSC Virtuosa has seven night sailings to La Rochelle in France, Bilbao in Spain and Le Havre in Paris from £799pp, departing on June 25.

Temperatures reach 25C in northern Spain at that time of year and you’ll be able to lap up that heat from the sandy shores of the popular resort town, San Sebastián, which is close to Bilbao.

Before that, though, you’ll head to the charming coastal city of La Rochelle filled with ancient architecture and cobbled streets.

Swing by the bustling markets for some freshly caught seafood or take a trip to Ile de Ré, one of the most scenic islands in France.

Other cruises include ten nights’ all-inclusive in the Mediterranean from £719pp, departing on April 19, and there are also 12-night sailings around Portugal and the Canary Islands from £1,049pp or £1,219pp all-inclusive, departing May 1.

Sun readers who book an inside cabin will bag £50pp onboard credit, while those booking an outside one will receive £75pp.

Book a cabin with a balcony to get £150pp credit. Or why not push the boat out with a suite and receive £200pp?

To book, call 0808 164 1139 and quote The Sun or see msccruises.co.uk.
