Garth Brooks won’t be boycotting Bud Light.
The 61-year-old famed country singer said he will offer the beleaguered Anheuser-Busch-owned brand at his new Nashville bar — despite the controversy over its marketing partnership with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
“I want it to be a place you feel safe in, I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another,” he told Billboard when asked about his new establishment.
“And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are.”
Brooks added: “It’s not our decision to make.”
“Our thing is this, if you are let into this house, love one another,” he added.
“If you’re an a–hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”
Brooks, the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and two-time Grammy Award winner, is set to open the Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk.
An official grand opening date has yet to be announced.
Brooks has not been one to sound off on his political views.
Though he has stated that he is a Republican, he angered many when he performed at Joe Biden’s inaugural in 2021.
Brooks’ peers in the country and pop music scene are divided about Bud Light.
Travis Tritt and Kid Rock were adamant in their decision to boycott the brand after Mulvaney posted video to her millions of followers touting the beer.
Kid Rock went so far as to post a video showing him shooting cans of Bud Light using an assault rifle.
The Post has sought comment from Anheuser-Busch.
Calls to boycott Bud Light appear to have taken their toll on the brand.
According to research firm Circana, sales of Bud Light fell by 23% year-over-year in May to $297.3 million while rival lager Modelo Especial was catapulted to the top spot, generating $333.1 million — a 15% increase year-over-year.
The figures from Circana were reported over the weekend by Insider.
Michelob Ultra, Coors Light, and Miller Lite were among the top five bestselling beers in the country during the course of May, according to Circana.
