Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Transmutation the third movie in the Fullmetal live-action series, will be available on Netflix starting September 24. Two sequel films to 2017’s Fullmetal Alchemist film were released this year. The Revenge of Scar came out in Japanese theatres on May 20, and The Final Transmutation was released on June 24.
After The Revenge of Scar was made available on Netflix earlier this month, fans will be able to watch Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Transmutation next month on the platform as well.
Netflix describes the film as the following:
“The Elric brothers’ long and winding journey comes to a close in this epic finale, where they must face off against an unworldly, nationwide threat.”
Mackenyu Arata will reprise the role of Scar from The Revenge of Scar. Ryosuke Yamada will return as Edward Elric, Atomu Mizuishi as Alphonse Elric, and Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang in the film.
IGN gave the 2017 movie a score of 6.5/10 in its review, writing, “While there are flaws galore in this live-action movie version, you get a sense that the director has a real love for the original source material. The colour schemes and costumes have exactly the right hues and texture, and the ambiance is engaging overall. Sori nails some parts, like when Ed is at the Gate of Truth, and the climactic showdown scenes with the Homunculus. There are definitely some gems among the rubble, but it takes work to find them among the reduced cast of characters, a sometimes incoherent plot, and an unconvincing lead actor. But it would be a mistake to dismiss Fullmetal Alchemist altogether, and at least fans will have plenty to talk about after seeing the movie.”
