Forget Sky TV and Netflix! Amazon’s new movie streaming service is totally FREE

Don’t fancy paying for Sky Cinema or Netflix? Don’t panic as Amazon has just launched a new movie streaming service that’s totally free. Called IMDb TV, this online platform offers customers a swathe of content all without needing to fork out for a monthly subscription. The online retailer says its new service will be available to all UK Prime and non-Prime customers in the coming days and offer Hollywood blockbusters, original shows and classic TV.

It’s even promised to add new content every month across a variety of genres. At launch, you’ll be able to watch movies including Cloverfield, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Kramer vs. Kramer and Pulp Fiction.

There’s also telly shows such as Dawson’s Creek, The A-Team and Masterchef. And with Halloween just around the corner, a bunch of spooky classics like Night of the Living Dead, Paranormal Activity, Scary Movie, Scream and The Fog will also be arriving for free.

Along with these famous movies and shows, IMDb TV is also bringing some originals to living rooms including Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary, Moment of Truth and Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers.

Of course, like most things in life, there is a catch with users having to sit through some adverts to help pay for their free movie binge.

Other than that it looks set to be a good addition to your living room and you’ll find all of the content in a carousel within the Prime Video app on your TV, phone, tablet or streaming device.

“IMDb TV has created a free-to-consumer destination by combining a hybrid of exclusive Originals from Amazon Studios and highly sought-after movies and television,” said Lauren Anderson and Ryan Pirozzi, co-heads of content and programming, IMDb TV. “Today’s UK launch marks a major step in our mission to deliver customers widely appealing content and globally relevant storytelling, through a personalized, free streaming experience.”
