Forever Skies floats to Early Access on June 22

Do you really want to live forever?

Far From Home has announced that their airship survival and crafting game, Forever Skies, will be hitting Steam Early Access on June 22, 2023.

Forever Skies places you in a disease-ravaged world, where you build and pilot an airship base to find a cure. You manage the weight and integrity of your airship, expand your facilities, and search for new technologies and resources.

The developers state that “The Early Access version will offer plenty of mechanics and activities to play within a vast world ready to be explored, all of which will engage players for many hours.” They go on to clarify that the amount of hours is roughly 30. The developers also note that they plan to include co-op in Forever Skies later in Early Access.

Did you ever play Guns of Icarus Online? It was (and, I guess, still is) a great airship game where you and your friends battle against opposing crews. Players would typically take the role of either a gunner, pilot, or engineer. I personally liked being an engineer, and jumping between the various components of the ship and keeping them in tip-top shape and not on fire.

For that matter, my favorite part of Subnautica was exploring the ocean while personalizing my big submarine.

What I’m saying is that Forever Skies seems like my jam, and I’m looking forward to it.

Forever Skies hits PC via Steam Early Access on June 22, 2023. The developers have stated the plan is to keep it there for about a year.
