Welcome to the Cat Fancier’s Association costume competition, which sees cute little moggies donning all manner of great fits.
Melody Boyd, 50, from Savannah, Georgia, US, captured footage of these great looks at the cat show, which takes place in Texas.
Some attendees like to dress their cats up for the occasion, and the results are shown in a bid to find a winner.
Melody, a Bengal cat breeder and exhibitor, explained that a judge will display each cat and describe their look to the crowd.
‘It’s completely unscripted and some judges, like the judge on this video, Jacqui Bennett, are very good at it,’ said Melody.
‘The audience is then asked to vote for their favourite by clapping.
‘Unless there is a specific theme, the owners can dress their cats in whatever they want.’
Melody insists that none of the cats are unhappy with the fact that they’re wearing clothes for the occasion.
‘All the cats in the videos are loved and spoiled,’ she said. ‘The cats are not mistreated.
‘The Cat Fancier’s Association breeders and exhibitors are all about bettering the breed.’
Of course, every pet is different so if you want to try getting your cat to wear cute costumes, make sure you pay attention to any signs they could be stressed out or not enjoying themselves.
If they’re not chilled out, then maybe give the costumes a miss.
