First Nation’s Actor Wows Audiences In Wonder Woman


There’s been a lot of buzz over the weekend about the latest superhero blockbuster to be released. DC Comics’ Wonder Woman brought in $100 million domestically and $122.5 million internationally, making it the third-highest opening for a film in the DC universe. Also worth mentioning is that director Patty Jenkins now has the highest opening for a female director.

Something else worth noting is that an actor from Blood Tribe in Alberta speaks the Blackfoot language in the movie!

“Dreams come true, I’m a living example,” actor Eugene Brave Rock said. “I’m just a kid from Stand Off.” Brave Rock, known as “Gene” on the reserve, plays a character known as “Chief” in the blockbuster film.
