On Tuesday, the first-look of the cast and characters for The Continental, a prequel series to John Wick, was revealed.
Yuko Shimizu, an award-winning illustrator, has created a special piece of fan art to celebrate the release of the first look of the John Wick spinoff series, The Continental. Shimizu expressed excitement for the opportunity to collaborate on the project with the OTT platform, as she is a huge fan of the John Wick franchise. The Continental Hotel plays a vital role in the series, and Shimizu wanted to showcase it as the main character in her artwork. She also hinted at the danger, intrigue, and drama that viewers can expect to discover as they watch Winston’s origin story unfold.
A three-part series is set to delve into the origins of the famous hotel-for-assassins, which serves as the focal point of the John Wick universe. The show will follow the experiences of a young Winston Scott, who is forced to confront his past in 1970s New York City. Winston navigates the dangerous underworld of the hotel in an effort to gain control and eventually become its leader.
Playing the role of young Winston in the series is Colin Woodell, who replaces Ian McShane. Ayomide Adegun, a newcomer, takes on the role of Charon, previously played by the late Lance Reddick. The cast also includes Mel Gibson, Mishel Prada, Jeremy Bobb, Ben Robson, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, and Hubert Point-Du Jour.
Check out the cast of The Continental here:
Colin Woodell as Winston Scott
Winston Scott is a clever and attractive businessman who has a knack for innovative thinking. He had a run-in with the law due to a distressing incident, but managed to establish himself as a prosperous entrepreneur in London. However, his past catches up with him when Cormac, a criminal boss from his earlier days, tasks him with locating his long-lost brother, Frankie.
Ayomide Adegun as Charon
At the beginning of the event series, Charon is a reliable aide to Cormac. However, as the series progresses, Charon will face a challenge where he must choose between staying loyal to his guardian or joining a new group of individuals who could become his family.
Mel Gibson as Cormac
Cormac, the manager of The Continental Hotel in New York City, is a powerful and frightening figure who can be both charming and brutal. He has a past connection with Winston and Frankie Scott, and when Frankie steals something valuable from Cormac’s bosses, he pulls Winston back into the criminal world. As Cormac becomes more desperate, his madness and rage escalate, and we will observe his actions.
Mishel Prada as KD
As a detective in the NYPD, KD has no tolerance for the widespread corruption within the force. With a personal agenda driving her, she is committed to exposing the criminal activities in the city. This pursuit will lead her to The Continental where she will confront a figure from her past.
Jeremy Bobb as Mayhew
Mayhew, KD’s superior, is not only an NYPD detective but also has a deeper connection with her. Despite being married and having children, Mayhew has a fondness for KD and advises her firmly to avoid The Continental Hotel.
Ben Robson and Nhung Kate as Frankie and Yen
Jessica Allain and Hubert Point-Du Jour as Lou and Miles
Miles, a Vietnam veteran, is described as tough, loyal, and intelligent. He became involved in gun-running while serving abroad in a war he did not want to participate in and for a country that did not value him as a Black man. Along with his fellow veterans Frankie and Lemmy, as well as his hesitant sister Lou, Miles is involved in the illegal trade of firearms. He rationalizes his risky business as the only means of keeping his deceased father’s martial arts school operational.
