Official spokesperson of IIT Jammu said, “The distinguished recipients of the SIRE-2023 Fellowship are Dr Anup Shukla, Dr Sudhakar Modem, Dr Arun Kumar Verma, Dr Ankur Bansal, Dr Roshan Patil, Dr Vijay Kumar Pal, Dr Rimen Jamatia and Dr Shanmugadas K P.”
Sharing details of their expertise, he said, “Dr Anup Shukla’s research focus lies in the Inter-dependency and Resiliency of Power and Communication Systems, a critical area that holds significant implications for modern infrastructure and technological advancements.
“Intriguingly, Dr Sudhakar Modem’s work centres on leveraging battery energy efficiently to ensure secure and robust mobile communication in the presence of potential eavesdroppers.”
“Collaborating with Dr Sheldon Williamson from the Ontario Tech University, Canada, Dr Arun Kumar Verma aims to pioneer a Fast Charging Solution for wide Electric Vehicle (EV) Adoption, he said, adding, “Dr Ankur Bansal, embarks on a research quest to provide 360-degree coverage for a dense 6G wireless communication network by utilising low-power spectrally-efficient technologies and shall be visiting the esteemed University College of Dublin (UCD), Ireland, to achieve this objective.
Another recipient of the SIRE-2023 Fellowship, Dr Vijay Kumar Pal, is set to explore the nanofabrication of metal nanoparticles with Carbon allotropes for Hydrogen storage.
Whereas Dr Suprem Ranjan Das from the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering department of Kansas State University, USA, Dr Pal’s research holds immense promise in advancing the domain of hydrogen storage.
Dr Rimen Jamatia will be collaborating with Prof Zdenek P Bazant from Northwestern University, Illinois, USA, to delve into the constitutive modelling of quasi-brittle materials under non-uniform passive confinement, an area with significant applications in structural engineering.
Dr Shanmugadas K P will be visiting the esteemed Technical University of Munich, Germany to work closely with Prof Chiara Manfletti, Chair of Space Propulsion.
IIT jammu spokesperson said, “These eight faculty members have not only brought immense pride to IIT Jammu but have also elevated India’s reputation in the global scientific community.”
“Their exceptional research projects, undertaken in collaboration with esteemed foreign agencies, promise to open new avenues of knowledge and academic collaboration on an international scale, he added.
