EastEnders’ Patsy Kensit calls off fifth marriage to fiancé after five-months
EastEnders star Patsy Kensit and property tycoon Patric Cassidy have parted ways.
The 59-year-old got down on one knee in a romantic set-up on the beach during a holiday in February.
Patsy, 55, was later seen flashing her engagement ring in a post on Instagram after saying yes.
A representative for Patsy has now told The Sun on Sunday: “I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter.”
“She is currently very busy working,” the source added.
An insider has since claimed the pair have “a lot of love for each other” following the split.
They added: “Ultimately, she knew that they couldn’t make it work in the long-term so felt it was best not to move forward with their relationship.
“Patsy has lots of exciting work opportunities at the moment, and she is throwing herself into her career.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Patsy for further comment.
The EastEnders star met the businessman by being set up on a blind date.
Speaking of her new love to The Mirror, the four-times married actress revealed how her expectations had changed when it came to relationships.
She said: “I think we have to understand that you are never going to be able to change someone.
“I use the word companionship. I’m not ruling the intimacy side of things out but relationships are different at this age, and that is good and OK. You have got to be hopeful and grateful.”
The actress first tied the knot with Dan Donovan back in 1988 and their marriage lasted three years.
A year on from their divorce, she married Scottish singer Jim Kerr.
During this time, the pair welcomed their son James, now 29, into the world, but their relationship ended three years later.
Most famously, Patsy exchanged vows with Oasis star Liam Gallagher, who she shares son Lennon, 23, with, in 1997.
She married for a fourth time in 2009 to Jeremy Healy but called it quits the following year.
