‘Dominated’ – Man City fans troll Mauricio Pochettino with Man United claim
Manchester City fans have trolled Mauricio Pochettino as neighbours Manchester United remain keen on the PSG coach replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Having sacked the Norwegian on Sunday morning, key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom had been planning to appoint an interim manager until the end of this season.
However, that’s before they were alerted to Pochettino’s interest in the vacancy, which is reciprocated.
PSG are understood to have already knocked back one approach for the Argentine coach – who was incidentally in Manchester on Tuesday night when his star-studded team featuring Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, were beaten 2-1 by City at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking before and after the match about the United position, the PSG manager remained coy on such suggestions.
France superstar Mbappe opened the scoring when Pochettino’s current team got down to business vs City, who then responded to claim three points and win Champions League Group A courtesy of goals from Raheem Sterling and substitute Gabriel Jesus.
And it’s that showdown which has proven to be the catalyst for some timely Pochettino and United criticism from those on the blue side of this famous footballing city.
Here are a selection of comments from City supporters made on social media platform Twitter;
