Disneyland Paris reveals big changes for 30th birthday – new attractions & shows
DISNEYLAND Paris is celebrating its 30th birthday and big changes are coming to the theme park – including a huge new makeover for Minnie.
Guests will be able to enjoy new attractions, shows and food, as well as see all their favourite characters in new, special outfits to mark the occasion.
On March 6, the theme park will kick off its 30th birthday celebrations in style with a new daytime show, which will take place several times a day in front of the newly refurbished Sleeping Beauty Castle.
The show will feature more than 30 Disney characters and dancers on colourful floats, and a soundtrack with a new song written for the birthday.
The Disney Illuminations night time show will also have a new opening number called Disney D-Light, with video projections, water jets and family-favourite songs.
It will feature more than 200 drones right above the castle, and is the first time the a Disney park will use drone technology in this way.
Micky, Minnie, Donald and all their friends will be decked out in new shimmery costumes which were created specially for the milestone.
But that’s not the only outfit Minnie will be showcasing this year – and she’s got a new look in store.
British fashion designer Stella McCartney has partnered with Disney to create Minnie’s first ‘pant suit’ – the first time she has ever worn trousers.
Minnie’s signature polka dots will feature on a blue tuxedo which will be worn in honour of Women’s History Month in March this year.
Disneyland Park will become home to the new ‘Gardens of Wonder’ collection, made up of 10 different themed gardens featuring Disney and Pixar characters.
There will be more than 30 art sculptures hidden within the park – but they won’t be easy to spot, so it’s up to visitors to try and find them all.
Disneyland Park will also be redecorated using the same shimmery theme as the new outfits the famous characters will wear.
And it’s not just the characters that can be decked out in new gear, as a 30th anniversary merch collection, including ear headbands, sweatshirts, bags and toys will be available in Disney stores and online.
Foodies are also in for a treat with a host of new dishes and drinks on the menu, featuring vegetarian options, birthday-themed desserts and new cocktails.
