This documentary will profile a man who many believe is conscienceless.

Love Never Lies

Netflix continues to dabble in the international reality game with its latest pickup from Spain. In this one, six couples agree to undergo eye-scanning lie detector tests. Those who choose deceit are punished while the truth tellers are rewarded with a cash prize.

FRIDAY NOV. 12

Home Sweet Home Alone

Friday is Disney Plus Day and the streaming service has a slew of new releases to commemorate the second anniversary of its launch. To kick things off, Disney is going back to its bread and butter. Another “Home Alone” spinoff. In this one, Kevin (played by Macaulay Culkin) has been replaced by Max (Archie Yates) and the family goes to Tokyo instead of Paris. If you are thinking “not again,” you aren’t alone, but give this a shot as Ellie Kemper (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”) and Kenan Thompson (“SNL”) co-star. Plus the original Buzz (Devin Ratray) returns for a cameo!

“Star Wars” fans hungry for a new season of “The Mandalorian” can watch the origins of the legendary bounty hunter while they wait.

If your kids were all about Olaf when they watched “Frozen” for the first time, they can rest easy as the snowman becomes the showman in this new series of animated shorts. Olaf takes on the roles of producer, actor, costumer and set builder retelling five classic Disney stories including “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin.” It’s hard to predict what kids want, but this might be the closest we ever get.

The Shrink Next Door

Inspired by true events, this new Apple TV Plus series documents the bizarre relationship between celebrity psychiatrist Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf (played by the ageless Paul Rudd) and his longtime patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz (played by Will Ferrell). Their professional relationship crosses the line into their personal lives when the shrink starts to insert himself into all aspects of Marty’s day-to-day affairs. This one has hit written all over it.

This Amazon Prime Video original goes inside Pete Buttigieg’s campaign to become the youngest U.S. president. It provides an in-depth look at the candidate’s marriage to his husband, his triumph in Iowa, and is an insightful look at the first openly LGBTQ cabinet member in U.S. history.

Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight

“Tiger King” transformed big cat activist Carole Baskin into a pop culture phenomenon (even leading to an appearance on “Dancing With the Stars”) and now it’s time for the business owner to tell her side of the story in this two-part doc. It’s especially great timing on the heels of Baskin suing Netflix for using footage of her in their promotion of “Tiger King 2,” which drops next week.

Yellowjackets

Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci star in this saga about an all-girl high school soccer team that survives a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness. The psychological horror chronicles their descent from a thriving club into savage individualists while also looking at their lives 25 years later. A new-age “Lord of the Flies.”

Kamikaze

A new HBO Max original, this eight-part Danish drama sees 18-year-old Julie (played by Marie Reuther) go on a journey of rediscovery after losing her family in a plane crash. Despite inheriting a large mansion, cars and a lot of money, Julie realizes that everything material is actually immaterial.
