The Titans were “beaten everywhere” and “took 10 steps back”.
Those were the respective dire admissions of coach Justin Holbrook and captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui after the Roosters hammered the Titans 44-16 in Mackay on Saturday night.

“Tonight we got beaten everywhere: on attitude, on effort and execution,” Holbrook said in his post-match press conference.
“Our focus is on ourselves. We need to get ourselves right and obviously some personnel changes.
“It’s the difficult part when you’re not winning, you have to make changes… we can’t accept what we dished up tonight.”
A converted Heman Ese-ese try early in the second half cut the deficit to eight, but from that point the Roosters dominated.
Trent Robinson’s men ran in four unanswered tries after that as gun fullback James Tedesco completed a hat-trick.

“Not working hard enough across the park, including myself,” Fa’asuamaleaui said.
“I need to have a good look at myself and individuals need to, as well. We need to get it right for next week because we took a step forward last week. Even though we didn’t get the win (last week), there were improvements.
“This week we took 10 steps back. Very bad.”
Despite losing last week, the Titans had made a valiant effort in an 18-4 defeat to reigning premiers the Panthers.
The Titans are languishing in 15th on the ladder with just two wins from nine games.
