DIABLO 4 has had amazing reviews across the board but it might have a ‘bumpy’ launch.
While the developers tested the game’s stability with beta tests, more people are expected to join at launch.
This could mean that the launch is disrupted with some players unable to get online.
Server stability was an issue for some players during the several days the game was beta tested.
However, according to a GamesRadar interview with Diablo 4’s general manager Rod Fergusson, the team is more prepared for launch.
He says: “We learned a lot from each [playtest].
“We’re feeling better. We feel good about [it], [and] all the stuff that we’ve learned.”
While he states that a beta test can never fully replicate how the game will work at launch he claims the team feels “prepared.”
Fergusson says: “We’ve done the work, and we’ve done a lot of testing, and so we’re prepared.
“But you know, never say never.
“It might be a little bumpy on the first day, but our hopes are that, like we did on those [beta] weekends, we learn and adapt.”
The “learn and adapt” refers to how development teams work during a launch to make sure that a game is running smoothly.
If the online servers are unable to keep the game stable, then the team will be ready to make adjustments as and when they happen.
While Fergusson wants players to prepare for issues at launch the game is apparently ready to let players in.
He says: “We’ve done the work we could do to make launch day as smooth as possible.
“And we feel good about where we are.”
