The Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles fighting game is adding all the MVPs from Season 2 of the anime in a new DLC Characters Pack.
Demon Slayer by Koyoharu Gotouge managed to become in a couple of years the most popular anime of all time in terms of revenue thanks to its first TV season and the Mugen Train movie, all animated by studio Ufotable, also known for the Nasuverse anime adaptations. Now, the console game The Hinokami Chronicles will add new characters from Season 2 as DLC.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles to add Hashira and Demon Characters from Entertainment Distrcit Arc For Free
While Demon Slayer Entertainment District arc has already finished airing, fans will now be able to reenact some of the season’s iconic fights in the Demon Slayer console game as it will add all the major characters from the arc including Daki and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. Entertainment District Arc versions of Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu will also be added to the game.
All new Demon Slayer game DLC characters confirmed so far
- Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui
- Daki
- Gyutaro
- Awakened Nezuko
- Tanjiro Kamado Entertainment Distrct arc version
- Zenitsu Agatsuma Entertainment Distrct arc version
- Hashibira Inosuke Entertainment Distrct arc version
All these characters will be added for free later in 2022. The news was first announced by Aniplex and CyberConnect2 via Shonen Jump magazines this April as reported by Ryokutya2089. All characters will only be playable in Versus Mode.
CyberConnect2 Working on More DLC Characters Hints at Delayed Sequel
Right now, CyberConnect2 is working on these DLC characters rather than launching a full-fledged sequel. Unlike with the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series, it looks like it could take more than a year between new releases of Demon Slayer fighting games. This is a bit of a shame as all the DLC characters will only be playable in Versus Mode and will not add any new story elements.
The Demon Slayer console game is officially titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles and is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. CyberConnect 2 is currently working on a Nintendo Switch version of the game to be released on June 10, 2022. An asynchronous multiplayer game on mobile titled Kimetsu no Yaiba Keppuu Kengeki Royale is also in development but was delayed with no release date yet. Season 3 of the anime was also revealed and will cover the Swordsmith Village arc.
