Debate rages as internet tries to figure out dog’s breed
A cute rescue puppy has captured both the heart and attention of the internet as nobody can work out what breed the dog might be.
Loki is three-years-old and was rescued from a “really bad situation” by a Tennesse woman, who has taken to the internet to try and work out what type of dog he might be.
On the Reddit forum ‘IDMyDog’, the anonymous woman explained she found Loki living with an “old lady” who was keeping over 70 dogs in her home.
Loki’s new owner wrote: “She apparently didn’t want to give up any of her ‘babies’ but they were all starving and running rampant.
“This is why we’re not sure what he is exactly. There were sooooo many different breeds living there.”

Loki has a beautiful white and grey coat with dark grey spotted markings with bigger black markings on his face and back.
In her post, the woman wrote that she gets asked all the time” about what breed Loki might be because “people love his colouration”, but has no idea what type of dog he is.
The forum has immediately fallen in love with Loki, as many comments described him as “adorable”, and the dog experts on the site shared their thoughts on the mystery.
One popular comment simply advised: “That’s a spotted long sketchy good boy. He wants a cracker with peanut butter on it, please give him one.”
The woman joked that the user “might be onto something” as those are Loki’s favourite snacks.
A more helpful user said the suspected Loki might be a mix of an Australian Cattle Dog, who are nicknamed heelers, as well as a German Shorthaired Pointer, which are nicknamed GSPs.
The user asked: “Is he particularly high energy? GSPs are a whole level of energetic!”
The woman replied: “[Loki is] actually pretty laid back. He is fully capable of high energy bursts, but he is also totally fine with going outside and just laying on the deck the majority of the time.”
However, one clever commentator thinks they were able to crack the case, and posted that Loki was a “German short-haired pointed mix” with “maybe some blue heeler.”
The woman said: “I think this might be the one. Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and input. I appreciate the quick responses.”
Many users asked the woman to get a DNA test result done, and Loki’s owner has said she might get one done as long as it is not too expensive, and has promised to keep the forum updated on Loki and his mysterious origins in the future.
