Looks like Cynthia Nixon is channeling her inner Samantha Jones.
This week, the sophomore season of the “Sex and the City” spinoff, “And Just Like That…” premiered on Max, featuring a racy sex scene between Nixon’s character, attorney Miranda Hobbes, and her new queer, nonbinary love, Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez).
Now, Nixon is revealing how she really felt about filming the scene and showing some skin on camera.
“I feel like I was always fairly game for it,” Nixon told Entertainment Tonight this week.
“It’s just one of the main subjects of the show is sex — people having sex and people having great sex and people having terrible sex and people having hilarious sex,” she continued.
The season’s opening scene showed a montage of the other characters having some intimate moments, including a shot of Nixon and Diaz in a hot tub.
Later on, in another clip, Nixon tried a strap-on — even struggling to put it on at first — and talked about “pegging.”
The premiere caught some heat from a few, including Meghan McCain, who penned in her Daily Mail column that the show was “woke slop.”
Nixon’s character, Hobbes, plays a lawyer who is married to Steve Brady (David Eigenberg), but goes through some changes as she gets older, particularly in her romantic life, later asking him for a divorce on the spinoff.
During last season’s finale, Che asks Miranda to come with them to Los Angeles to make a pilot for a TV show.
While speaking with ET, Nixon explained that she thinks her character is trying to “let go” after all these years.
“Miranda is a total control freak, so she’s tried to maybe kind of — for the first time really — let go,” Nixon explained.
“Some of it seems fun at first, but I think it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks,” she continued. “It’s really hard for Miranda to not know what the ground beneath her feet actually is and who the person next to her really is.”
The show, which first premiered in 1998, ran for six seasons on HBO, and ended in 2004.
It also featured Sarah Jessica Parker as the infamous Carrie Bradshaw, Kristin Davis as the funny Charlotte York, and Kim Cattrall as sultry publicist Samantha Jones.
Parker and Davis returned for the show’s spinoff last year, but Cattrall did not, as rumors of a feud between her and the other ladies swirled — that is, until this season.
Last month, The Post exclusively revealed that Kim Cattrall, 66, will return as Jones in a cameo appearance on AJLT this season.
The Post learned that Cattrall filmed a “cliffhanger” scene that was shot in March in a town car in a parking garage near Silvercup Studios in Queens, where the show’s interiors are recorded.
One source even said that Cattrall’s appearance was kept so “hush-hush” that her name didn’t even appear on the call sheet.
Other members of the cast have weighed in on her return, including Nixon.
During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the star hinted about herself and other cast members having to “[walk] around on eggshells with someone who’s unhappy.”
“We all love each other, we love our show, we wanted to do more of it. And we all wanted to be there. So that makes an enormous difference,” Nixon said of the spinoff’s cast.
