Corrie actress praised by co-star as fans call for different storyline

Corrie fans are worried for Kelly Neelan after she was released from prison.

The character, played by Millie Gibson, looks set for the bleak time after being freed on Monday night (November 8).

Kelly, who was framed for the murder of Seb Franklin, was overjoyed after having her conviction quashed.

The future looked bright at first when she returned to the home of her foster carers Imran Habeeb and Toyah Battersby.

But then she learned that the couple had to choose between her and four-year-old Elsie, who they had fostered while she was behind bars.

Not wanting to contribute to the little girl suffering more upheaval, Kelly made the decision for them.

The teen opted to leave and stay in supported living accommodation.

But when she arrived at her new home she was met with the word ‘murderer’ sprayed on the wall.

And next week things take a darker turn as she ends up on the streets.

Fans are now worried for Kelly and are calling for her to have a different storyline.

“Just give Kelly a nice storyline,” said one fan on Twitter.

“Oh, Kelly, just go back to Toyah and Imran…” said another.

“Kelly should go back to Toyah and Imran’s,” a third pleaded.

On Instagram Millie was praised by her co-star Lucy Mizen who plays social worker Lou.

Sharing an unseen snap of the pair on the famous cobbles outside the Rovers Return she wrote: “I can finally share this snap I took with this total beaut.

But the hotel receptionist approaches, demanding to know which room she’s staying in.

Another guest, Alan, comes to her rescue and tells her she’s welcome to knock on his bedroom door any time.

And later, feeling that she has no other option, Kelly returns to the hotel and knocks on Alan’s bedroom door.
