Dejan Kulusevski is set to return for Tottenham in Sunday’s north London derby, while Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur may also be available for Antonio Conte.
Spurs host Arsenal on Sunday afternoon in a huge clash as the home side hope to keep pace with the top four, while the Gunners bid to keep hold of their impressive five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
Conte has been without Kulusevski, Richarlison and Bentancur in recent weeks, and while two remain doubts, he is confident that the Swede is fit and available after a muscle problem.
‘The news for sure the situation is going to improve, especially for Deki, for Kulusevski,’ Conte told a press conference on Friday. ‘He had training session in the last few days with us. He’s going to be ready to play.’
Richarlison and Bentancur both suffered injuries at the World Cup, playing with Brazil and Uruguay respectively, and they are behind Kulusevski in their recoveries but could still make it back for Sunday.
‘About Richy and Rodrigo, both situations are improving. I think in this moment Deki is much more ready to play and especially don’t take risks,’ said Conte.
‘For us, it is important to have patience ahead of this period and not to risk accelerating and lose them for a long period. We will see.
‘We have another training session tomorrow to monitor the situation with Rodrigo and Richy.’
Yves Bissouma is also set to be available for the clash with Arsenal, meaning Tottenham’s injury troubles are nearly at an end.
Conte is only without Lucas Moura for the visit of the Gunners.
