Confused Corrie fans ask if they’ve missed something as Sally is arrested

Coronation Street fans were left confused as Sally Metcalfe was arrested in Monday night’s double bill.

The former Mayor of Weatherfield kicked off and booted a vending machine as police swooped on the hospital where her husband Tim was having a triple heart bypass operation.

Poor Tim thought he was dreaming as he caught sight of his wife being carted away as he went under.

Meanwhile their neighbours were sniggering over a copy of Weatherfield Gazette doing the rounds featuring a story about Sally having a wee in a public place.

But fans asked what they had missed and took to Twitter to ask questions.

@TheRealDanaXx asked: “What was sally arrested for????”

@j_raff2021 said: “I’m so confused, what did Sally do? #Corrie”

@ChurchieBoy1986 asked: “What’s Sally done I’ve missed something.”

@GrianneDoherty1 questioned: “What the hell did Sally even do to get arrested in the first place seriously?”

@chance29401051 asked: “Must have missed an episode why was Sally in the newspaper?”

And @Blockbustargirl wondered: “Why do I not remember Sally p***ing in the street?”

Corrie fans needed to cast their minds back to New Year’s Eve when the prim mother-of-two was caught short while waiting to see the fireworks.

A tipsy Sally weed outside in Victoria Gardens, just yards from their home, after complaining the queue for the toilets in the Rovers Return was too long.

Tim covered Sally with his coat and she finished doing her business just as it turned midnight.

@Jazzypap remembered: “A few weeks back, Sally stopped to have a pee in the garden area just off the street.

“I thought at the time that her and Tim had passed their own house and Sally ‘was caught short.'”

While coming round from surgery, a shocked Tim asked where his wife was and was shocked to be presented with a copy of the Gazette with a leaked picture of Sally on the front and the headline ‘New Year’s Wee.’

He was told by his mum Elaine Jones that she had been arrested over a public order offence for urinating in the gardens and that kicking the vending machine was criminal damage.

But she later returned to sheepishly announce that she been let off with caution.
