Cold Weather Payment triggers: Full list of places getting £25 as freezing fog predicted

Cold Weather Payments are made between November and March for eligible households to help to cope with unusually cold weather. The Met Office has recently shared that many central and southern parts of the country are to expect negative temperatures starting from today.

It has been reported that a five day cold snap is set to hit England with the central and southern parts of the country being hit the hardest.

Temperatures are expected to drop as low as four degrees celsius in some areas.

This is the second instance of incredibly cold temperatures so far this year and is likely to last until Monday.

In light of the predictions, many households could see a Cold Weather Payment landing in their bank accounts.

Anyone who believes they are eligible but have not received the Cold Weather Payment are advised to contact their local Jobcentre Plus or Pension Service.

The payments should automatically be made into the same bank or building society account wherein one ordinarily gets their benefits.
