CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates SAI MUN conference – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated SAI Model United Nations (SAI MUN) 2023 conference at the campus of Sai International School here. The conference was attended by 800 delegates from 10 countries including India.

While addressing the students taking part in the 11th edition of the SAI MUN Naveen said this conference will give a unique opportunity to students to understand the world, society and people around them.
“The knowledge of diverse cultures and practices enhances our acceptability to diversity. It helps us to find a common approach to global peace, harmony and growth. I believe, the experiences you will receive here, will help you to become global leaders and make meaningful contributions to humanity,” he added.

After the inauguration of the conference, the school looked like a model United Nations Organisation. Students were distributed in 10 committees of the UN to discuss, debate and deliberate on top international issues, said Silpi Sahoo, chairperson of Sai International Education Group.
“SAIMUN has always been a platform where students gather to explore and understand emerging global issues, engaging in meaningful discussions that shape their perspectives,” she added.
Naveen also inaugurated ‘Bijoy Indoor Stadium’ in the school established in the memory of the founder of the school, Bijoy Kumar Sahoo.
The 30,000 square feet of Bijoy Indoor Stadium and 40,000 square feet of Bijoy Maidan boast six table tennis courts, six badminton courts, three basketball courts, a squash court, multipurpose volleyball and tennis courts, a lawn tennis court, skating tracks, indoor games like chess, carrom.
Additionally, there is a football ground, a cricket ground, running track, and three swimming pools, making it a comprehensive sports complex, said the official sources.
