It is the third and final starter from Pokémon Legends: Arceus that will appear in raids in a row.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Typhlosion seven-star raid.

Pokémon SV: Typhlosion raid guide

Luckily for us, Typhlosion is a Fire-type Pokémon with quite a shallow move pool that mostly includes Fire-type moves.

It will have a Ghost tera-type, so we can safely assume that it will come with Shadow Ball.

We think that it will run Sunny Day to power up its Fire-type moves, and will mostly use special attacks.

It will also have Flash Fire meaning that it cannot be hit by Fire-type moves.

Here’s the set we predict for Typhlosion:

The Unrivaled Typhlosion – Level 100

  • Nature – Impish
  • Ability – Flash Fire
  • Item – None
  • Tera type – Ghost
  • Potential moveset – Shadow Ball, Sunny Day, Overheat, Will-O-Wisp, Focus Blast, Calm Mind, Solar Beam, Play Rough

Pokémon SV: Typhlosion counters

Pokémon that resist burns, and that can still deal out big damage in return.

Here are the Pokémon we recommend.

Coalossal

Coalossal can also have the ability Flash Fire, meaning that it will resist all Fire-type attacks and can be powered up by them.

It can also learn Sandstorm to take out the sun, and if battling with others, they can use Fire-type attacks to boost your power.

Coalossal will be basically unkillable, particularly with Mud-Slap to lower accuracy, but it may have a lower attack power than others.

Here’s the set we recommend:

Coalossal – Level 100

  • Nature – Careful
  • Ability – Flash Fire
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Dark
  • Potential moveset – Sandstorm, Mud-Slap, Tera-Blast, Stone Edge

Chi-Yu

Particularly strong in single raids, its ability Beads of Ruin will lower Typhlosion’s special defence by 25%.

It has incredible special defence and attack, and outspeeds Typhlosion as well as resisting burns.

Light Screen will keep you healthy, while Nasty Plot and Dark Pulse can help to deal damage.

Chi-Yu – Level 100

  • Nature – Calm
  • Ability – Beads of Ruin
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Dark
  • Potential moveset – Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse, Light Screen, Snarl

Roaring Moon

Sunny Day will help boost Roaring Moon’s attack making it even more threatening to Typhlosion.

Substitute will prevent Roaring Moon from being burned which will halve its attack.

It has a number of very strong Dark-type moves to fire back with. Our only reservation is if Typhlosion has Play Rough which will instantly K.O. it.

Here’s what we recommend:

Roaring Moon – Level 100

  • Nature – Careful
  • Ability – Protosynthesis
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Dark
  • Potential moveset – Dragon Dance, Night Slash, Substitute, Snarl

Pelipper

Pelipper’s Drizzle will negate Sunny Day, and power down Typhlosion’s Fire-type moves.

It can support others with Helping Hand, and stay healthy with Stockpile.

Pelipper doesn’t have strong moves against Typhlosion but would make a strong supportive set.

Here’s what we recommend:

Pelipper – Level 100

  • Nature – Calm
  • Ability – Drizzle
  • Item – Damp Rock
  • Tera type – Dark
  • Potential moveset – Tera Blast, Stockpile, Helping Hand, Hurricane
