Charlize Theron Provides an Update on MCU Return As Clea After Doctor Strange 2 Debut

Charlize Theron has revealed that she does not know what Marvel Cinematic Universe has in store for her character Clea. Theron claims that she has not been contacted by Marvel yet about Clea so far. Clea was first introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The character plays a significant role in the comics as well as in the life of Doctor Strange.

Charlize Theron Yet to Hear from Marvel

Theron told MTV’s Josh Horowitz that she has not “gotten a call” by the MCU about Clea yet. You can check out her complete (not so awkward) answer below.

Clea Abilities

In the comics, Clea is the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension. She has powerful abilities such as magic, teleportation, telekinesis, levitation, mind-control, and more. Given the scale of events in Marvel Cinematic Universe and how they are leading to possibly another multiversal war, Clea is a fitting character to arrive at this stage due to her abilities.

Clea and Doctor Strange

It will also be interesting to see what level of comic accuracy will be present while adapting Clea’s character in the MCU. Clea eventually marries Doctor Strange in the comics, and with Strange’s love interest Christine Palmer married in Multiverse of Madness, MCU may explore the relationship between Strange and Clea.

Regardless, there is currently no word on Clea’s return to the MCU. Theron may well be dodging the question here as well, and understandably so to avoid revealing anything the studio does not want to be make public yet. However, if Theron has indeed not received any call yet, it would be some time before we see Clea in the MCU again.
