MANILA, Philippines-Dynamic Herb Cebu kept a very slim chance of winning the Philippines Football League title after defeating Stallion-Laguna, 1-0, before another festive home crowd on Sunday in Talisay City.

JB Borlongan scored the solitary goal in the 41st minute as the Gentle Giants took the full three points following the match held at DH Borromeo Sports Complex and stayed within distance of leader Kaya-Iloilo with two games to play.

Cebu improved to 47 points after 20 matches, five behind Kaya with a game at hand.

Destiny is no longer in Cebu’s hands as it needs to win the last two games of the season and hope that Kaya suffers defeat in its final assignment.

The Gentle Giants’ last two games are against Stallion and Azkals Development Team.

Borlongan scored the eventual winner after a close-range attempt by Rintaro Hama on a counterattack was denied by Stallion goalkeeper Patrick Deyto.

Stallion lost for the seventh time in 16 matches to remain a close third at 25 points, one ahead of ADT.
