Call the Midwife’s Helen George shares baby joy as she welcomes second child

Helen George, who plays Trixie on Call the Midwife, has announced that she has given birth to her second child.

The 37-year-old posted a picture of her partner Jack Ashton, who plays Rev Tom Hereward on the BBC drama, with a tiny newborn wrapped in a purple blanket.

Tom is gazing lovingly at their new child with what appears to be Westminster in the background.

The couple already have one daughter together, Wren.

It isn’t yet known whether the baby is a boy or girl or what their name is.

Helen wrote on the Instagram post: “Happiest of birthdays my love. What a week. And forevermore you will share your birthday week with your second born, sorry I couldn’t cross my legs any longer Xxx”

The official Call the Midwife Facebook page congratulated the actress.

They wrote: “Awwww!! We don’t yet know any details about the new baby’s name or sex, but we’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Helen and Jack from the bottom of our hearts xxxxx Our Midwife family is growing!”
