Calico Critters recalled due to choking hazard on bottle, pacifier accessories

Health Canada is recalling Calico Critters animal toys that are sold with pacifier and bottle accessories.

There have been two reports of children choking on the pacifiers or bottles in the U.S.

One of those children died.

Health Canada says there have been no reports of children choking on the toys in Canada.

It says the packaging states that the toys are for children age three years and older and that small parts present a choking hazard to younger kids.

Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the toys and contact Epoch Everlasting Play for a free replacement accessory.

The company says more than 248,000 affected toys were sold in Canada. More than three million were sold in the U.S.

It says the affected products were sold between January 2000 and August 2021.
