Students and staff at a school in Bromley have celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee over the weekend by creating a giant handmade crown.
Bishop Challoner School have displayed the “magnificent” crown on the school grounds as a tribute to Her Majesty.

A spokesperson for the school said they created the “magnificent crown to grace their grounds and celebrate 70 years of her Majesty’s reign.”
They added: “The design and technology team and participating students created the crown in royal colours from sustainable materials in their workshops.”
The project was led by Manola Restivo who has been a teacher at the school for almost 30 years.

The celebrations continued with Ticcy Colling, the Chairman of Governors, planting a Cedar of Lebanon tree in Queen Elizabeth’s name to celebrate her time on the throne.
This tree has replaced one that was lost in the storms in 2010.
Pupils and staff were also able to enjoy a high tea in the school grounds and a full afternoon of entertainment for students of all age groups.
