Bloodborne Looks Incredible In New Unreal Engine 5 Fan-Made Recreation Teaser

Bloodborne is one of the most celebrated PlayStation 4 exclusives and one of the best games made by FromSoftware ever, and, with Sony now releasing its games on PC, many expect it to eventually make its way to Steam and other digital storefronts. As time passes, and nothing is announced regarding a port, it is looking more and more likely that PC players will be able to explore the haunted city of Yarnham and its surroundings only with a full-fledged remake.

Unable to wait for an official port or remake to be made, some dedicated fans have taken it upon themselves to recreate Bloodborne using modern technology, such as Maxime Foulquier, who is working on an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the game. Unlike similar fan-made projects, the developer is making all assets using Bender from scratch, so it will be a while until the project is done. Nevertheless, the results are extremely impressive, as shown by the first teaser trailer shared on YouTube.

An official Bloodborne remake/remaster has been rumored to be in the works for quite some time, but nothing has been announced so far. Back in September 2022, well-known Souls series dataminer LanceMcDonald shed some light on what it could be that is holding back such a release, saying that Sony could work on it without requiring FromSoftware’s support. Additionally, Sony Japan Studio, who worked with FromSoftware on the game, had a working PC build back when they were shut down, so it’s not technical issues that are holding the Japanese company back from making their game available on platforms other than PlayStation 4.

Unofficial Bloodborne remakes aren’t the only projects inspired by the popular game that were shared online these past few years. Last year, an incredibly accurate PSX demake was released online, allowing players to experience the game as if it were a first PlayStation game.
