‘Biggest post-holiday annoyance!’ – what annoys Britons the most when coming back home?

A holiday may be a much-needed break from routine, but it doesn’t necessarily relax Britons much. The idea of coming back from a trip without a care in the world and with newfound zen has been shattered by a new study by easyJet.

While 93 percent of Britons believe an annual holiday is important to give them a chance to relax, it was also revealed holidaymakers get annoyed when coming back home.

Most Britons (71 percent) were found to want another holiday as soon as they have returned home, with 80 percent scrolling through photo memories on return.

A surprising 55 percent eat traditional food and drinks from their holidays and 39 percent try to keep the holiday spirit alive by playing international music hits.

Holidays are extremely important to the nation, with 78 percent of Britons saying a holiday is the thing they look forward to the most all year long.

Some of the biggest benefits of a holiday were to be able to spend time with family, enjoying better weather and experiencing different cultures.

Having time away from work and responsibilities was also mentioned by 31 percent of respondents.

When returning home, however, Britons can get annoyed quite easily.

And the number one annoyance is an empty fridge.

DON’T MISS

This was closely followed by a mountain of post-holiday washing and unpacking.

Sunjiv Shah, General Manager at Uber Eats, said: “Us Brits love our food, so it’s no surprise that arriving home to an empty fridge after your holiday is our biggest post-holiday annoyance.”

The easyJet’ study also looked at the food Britons thought were important to stock up on after a holiday.

Coming on top was milk, closely followed by bread and butter.

And a cup of tea was also found to be the thing Britons crave the most post-holiday.

The airline partnered with Uber Eats to help Britons coming back from a holiday stock up their fridges.

Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Officer at easyJet, said: “With many of us returning from summer travels in the coming weeks we wanted to try and ease the burden of our post-holiday chores.

“We’re delighted to have partnered with Uber Eats and curate this special menu from Sainsbury’s to ensure our customers can return home to unpack the suitcase and leave it to us to pack their fridge.”

For the whole of September, easyJet customers landing in London Gatwick or Luton will get 50 percent off their Uber Eats grocery order when they spend up to £20.

Customers will find a seatback promotion with a special code for unlocking the savings on their next grocery order.
