BGT’s Kings and Queens dancer Kerri Donaldson dies as Strictly pros pay tribute
Britain’s Got Talent 2014 semi-finalist Kerri-Anne Donaldson, who performed with Kings and Queens, has died aged 38, her older sister Cara Donaldson has confirmed on Facebook.
Cara shared several family photos featuring her and Kerri last night to share the news, writing: “My heart hurts and my world has just collapsed around me.
“My beautiful baby sister is no longer with us and I don’t know how to process it. I love you Kerri, you’re my best friend, we were inseparable and right now I don’t know how to fill the void. Be peaceful and hold Nan tight.”
The Supadance National League also announced the sad news, but the cause of the dancer’s death has not yet been confirmed.
Kerri’s pal and fellow dancer Pasquale La Rocca, who is a pro on the Belgian version of Dancing with the Stars, also took to his Instagram page to pay tribute to her.

It wasn’t long before Kerri’s professional dancer friends from Strictly Come Dancing, who she performed with on the BBC show on several occasions, took to Instagram to share their heartache over the news.
Amy Dowden shared a black and white photo of Kerri and wrote: “So shocked and sad @kerri_annedonaldson. Such a beautiful dancer and kind soul.
“Sending love to all your family and friends. Heaven has certainly gained an angel. Keep dancing up there lovely.”
Neil Jones, who danced alongside Kerri during their Kings and Queens era, posted the same photo of the dancer on Instagram and wrote: “Kerri Anne Donaldson- remember that name and please never forget it because it belongs to a woman who loved to dance, create and perform, she had the cheekiest laugh and a heart of gold, she hated getting in the car with me, but would always listen to my crazy ideas, we shared so many moments and stories and she was always the voice of reason.
“Kerri you were my friend and like my big sister.”
Strictly: It Takes Two host Janette Manrara commented on Neil’s post: “How sad to see this news. She was a such a lovely person. My hearts goes out to all her friends and family during this time.”
Gorka Marquez also paid tribute, writing: “OMG this is so sad…”
Karen Hauer commented: “This is so sad. Completely shaken by this news. What a beautiful human she was.”
Back in 2017, Kerri took to her Instagram to share photos with the cast of Strictly in the BBC studios.
She thanked choreographer Patrick Helm for “entrusting me with your creations” and said she “loved being part of the madness” as part of a group dance number for the show.
