Best dressed from the American Music Awards 2021 red carpet

The biggest stars in music are arriving on the red carpet for the American Music Awards, and it seems the G-string trend is still a hot favourite.

Music’s biggest stars are arriving on the red carpet for this year’s American Music Awards.

Taking place at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles today, the annual fan-voted awards show will be hosted by Cardi B, with 15 performances from some of the world’s top artists including Jennifer Lopez, BTS and Coldplay.

Emerging pop star Olivia Rodrigo – who is also performing – leads the nominations with seven, while The Weeknd trails closely behind with six.

But first, it’s all about the fashion:

US musician JoJo need not Leave (Get Out) in this sheer cut-out ensemble, paired with a matching G-string, naturally.

Singer Kali Uchis has also gone with an underwear-inspired look, rocking a sexy silk blush corset and robe.

Rapper Coi Leray is sparkling in floor-length black sequins.

YouTuber Niki DeMar brings a pop of colour.

Media personality Rachel Lindsay steps out in a black velvet pantsuit.

Model Roshumba Williams has brought disco vibes in a metallic lavender gown.

The 49th American Music Awards will be available to stream on Hulu tomorrow.

Other big name nominees include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Drake.
