High on many people’s travel bucket lists thanks to its food, history, diving and beaches, Egypt comes into its own at this time of year when European sunshine destinations lose the heat.

Egypt is home to the pyramids, hot weather, bargain prices and plenty of culture.

Many locations within Egypt are worth seeing, including Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh if you’re keen for a beach break.

One of the busiest tourist locations in Egypt is Hurghada, and it’s not hard to see why, as it has endless miles of beaches, coral reefs to explore, and a lively town centre.

Hurghada is the second largest city on the Red Sea and has its own international airport.

The cheapest deal we’ve found comes from easyJet Holidays, with week-long stays at 5* Stella Gardens Resort & Spa available from £442pp on an all-inclusive basis.

The deal works out at £63pp a night.

First Choice has week-long stays at 4* Fort Arabesque Resort and Spa costing from £565pp, the deal is on an all-inclusive basis and works out at £80pp a night.

If you’d rather stay for less than a week, we’ve also found four-night stays at TUI MAGIC LIFE Kalawy, costing from £484pp (£121pppn) in December.

The same hotel can also be booked for seven nights from £593pp (£84pppn).

Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round holiday haven, thanks to its prime location on the subtropical Red Sea, surrounded by the Sinai desert and scorched by the North African heat.

The biggest bargain we’ve found is at 4* Xperience St. Georges Homestay on November 29.

The deal includes seven-night stays on an all-inclusive basis from £320pp – which works out at just £45pp a night.

Prices are based on two adults travelling together and sharing accommodation on an all-inclusive basis.
