After the success of I Kissed A Boy – I Kissed A Girl is coming!

Yes, the UK’s first dating show, hosted by the one and only Dannii Minogue, is getting a lesbian follow-up.

I Kissed A Boy made serious waves when it was first announced, given that a solely queer dating show has never aired before – we know, shocking.

With the eldest Minogue sister at the helm, I Kissed A Boy follows a group of 10 single guys as they search for love in a gorgeous sunny location.

The ten-parter matches the boys up after, you guessed it, a kiss, as couples are formed based on what each person is looking for in a potential partner.

After their initial smooch, the new pairings embark on a romantic journey that tests just how compatible they really are.

It’s as juicy as it sounds.

So, we can only expect I Kissed A Girl to bring all the drama too.

A synopsis for the forthcoming series reads: ‘I Kissed A Girl will serve drama, smash stereotypes and promise more twists and turns than ever.’

Dannii has also shared her excitement for the series already.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the Aussie star, 51 – who has cemented herself as a true gay icon and ally – filmed her reaction as the end credits to the latest episode of I Kissed A Boy aired.

At the end, the voiceover announced that I Kissed A Girl is in the pipeline, with applications now open.

Dannii was unable to hide her glee, as she let out a big: ‘Yasss!’

Blowing a kiss to the camera, she said: ‘See you there for series two!’

Understandably, the internet is also beside itself.

‘Sign me up, I’m ready’, one person tweeted.

‘dannii minogue queen of the gay dating franchises’, another declared.

‘Omg let’s go lesbians let’s GO’, another wrote.

The only question we have is… surely the theme tune is going to be Katy Perry’s smash hit, right?

Speaking around the time I Kissed A Boy launched, Dannii shared her own pride over being part of it.

On what it meant to be hosting the show, she exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘This is going to change the daily life paths of many, many people.

‘There’s so much to be learned from the show, for families, friends and allies, and even for people who attack the community.

‘I think they’re attacking something they don’t know about, or they feel like they’ve never met anyone that’s gay.

‘I’m so happy that BBC Three is kicking the door down, putting the show out there because it’s nuts that it’s 2023 and this has never happened before.’

I Kissed A Boy is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer. I Kissed A Girl is coming soon to BBC Three.
